Manchester United are in search of pivotal names to bolster their squad in the ongoing January transfer window. They have several defenders on their wish list, and now, the club is also said to be interested in a versatile winger.

Interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer did not seem too excited regarding any incomings, but it has been reported that the club is looking at options.

And one shock transfer target has come forward in the form Yannick Carrasco. The Belgian international was a former Atletico Madrid player, who left the Spanish giants for a stint in China.

According to a report in Foot Mercato, the Premier League club has expressed an interest in the 25-year-old, with hopes of making a potential move in the January window.

Carrasco made a shock move to the Chinese Super League, joining Dalian Yifang last year. But he is now said to be desperate to make a return to Europe.

The report adds that United aren’t the only club looking to sign the player, with Italian giants AC Milan also interested in the player. Carrasco will reportedly consider his options in the coming weeks.

Carrasco would add a lot of versatility to any team. He can play as a winger and a wing-back, and that too on either wings. With Antonio Valencia’s future in doubts and Matteo Darmian expected to leave the club, United want a player who can offer them many options on the pitch.

But there is one stumbling block. Speculation suggests that the player’s former Monaco manager, Leonardo Jardim, is set to take over at Dalian Yifang, which could tempt the player to extend his stay.
