Solskjaer Has Successfully Convinced Man United Star To Sign New Contract
A number of Manchester United players entered the final years of their current deals at the start of the ongoing season.
January is set to provide them with the opportunity to talk with interested clubs and agree to a pre-contract, but the Red Devils hope to hold onto some players after looking at their recent performances.
One such player is Ander Herrera, who has been an influential player in the Manchester United midfield since his arrival in 2014.
The 29-year old has made 177 appearances across all competitions for the Mancunians, scoring 19 goals in the process. Ed Woodward offered him a new contract last season, but talks were stalled after a disagreement on wages.

However, the club decided to activate the one-year extension clause in the Spaniard’s contract, giving them some time to make a better offer. And now, it seems like Herrera is finally ready to commit his future to Manchester United.
According to The Sun, the Spanish international is set to sign a new contract in the coming weeks. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer personally spoke to Herrera, insisting that he still had a lot of offer to the Red Devils.

The Norwegian boss is said to be a fan of the player, and wants to tie him down due to the passion he has shown for the club.
This will be a denting blow for Athletic Bilbao who were keen on luring him Herrera back to Spain this January.
In a recent interview with Cadena Ser, Sporting director Rafael Alkorta had revealed: “We are interested in Javi Martinez, Ibai, Ander Herrera, Fernando Llorente… we’re interested in all of them.”
