Paul Pogba has undeniably been a different player since Manchester United got rid of Jose Mourinho midway through the month of December.

The Frenchman has since bagged 4 goals and 4 assists in 5 appearances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with his lethal form continuing against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

The star midfielder set Marcus Rashford up for the sole goal of the game with a long-range diagonal ball, which will surely be a serious contender for the assist of the season.

While the piece of brilliance earned the World Cup winner enormous praise from the Red Devils’ fan-base, an extremely unlikely figure also made positive comments about the skill showcased by the 25-year-old.

Liverpool legend and Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has been one of the toughest critics of Paul Pogba, and he has time and again spoken negatively about the player, even when the France international’s acts warranted otherwise.

But following the win over Spurs, Souness stunned one and all by actually producing a positive comment regarding the Manchester United talisman.

Speaking about the assist and the moments that led to it, Souness stated: “(They have) got someone like Pogba who can deliver on a pass… Sloppy play as we said from Trippier, one, two, out my feet, and he can do that, he’s [Pogba’s] got the quality to do that.”

Naturally, fans were quick to react to this bizarre occurrence, with one supporter stating: “Wait, has Souness just complimented Pogba’s pass to Rashford?! Guessing he’s doing that new year, new me!”

While another claimed “Souness praising Paul Pogba?! The end is near!”, a third one added: “Souness just said Pogba has a pass in him. Even the haters are giving Pogba praise.”
