Man United Fans Love What De Gea Said In His Post-Match Interview After Spurs Win

Manchester United continued their winning run at Wembley, as they beat Tottenham Hotspur 1-0 to pick up their sixth consecutive victory under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

A sensational Paul Pogba assist set Marcus Rashford up for the sole goal of the game, but the man of the match was unarguably David De Gea, who was simply unbeatable on the night.

The Spaniard made 11 saves against Spurs – his second most in the Premier League, and the most any shot-stopper has made in the competition all season.

While his performance attracted enormous praise from the fans, players, and pundits alike, the words he uttered during his post-match interview also impressed the Mancunian outfit’s supporters heavily.

“We won the game against a top team, we controlled the first half but in the second half they had chances,” the Spanish international told Sky Sports after the full-time whistle. “I was feeling very well with the first two saves, it was a great game.

“I don’t even remember some of the saves so I can’t pick a best. The manager brought some happiness, the players are playing well and the team is very strong now. This is the real Manchester United.”

Those last six words were enough to send the Red Devils’ supporters into a meltdown, with fans on Twitter pouring out their love for the 27-year-old custodian.

While one fan tweeted “De Gea just said this is the REAL Manchester United. Couldn’t have said it any better”, another added: “De Gea: ‘This is the real Man Utd’ Love that. Very fortunate second half but I would anticipate the over excitement from MUFC fans will be because they have their team back.”
