Wayne Rooney Helps Manchester United Sign French Wonderkid

Manchester United have always been the ideal hub for young talents to develop into world-class players of the great game. The zest with which some of their academy graduates are presently functioning is enough proof that no age is too late to try and nurture oneself as a Red Devil.

In accordance with this vision, the club is always on the lookout for the best budding players from across the globe, and the standout performers are always secured.

Incidentally, the recent trend of youngsters attracting massive sums is also a big motivating factor for European powerhouses to invest in these teenagers in the hopes that they could soon break the bill.

Now, Manchester United have acquired the services of one such wonderkid, having officially signed 16-year-old Noam Emeran.

The French teenager functions as an attacking player, and has signed on for a three-and-a-half year long deal from Ligue 1 side Amiens’ youth academy. The Mancunian giants are understood to have warded off interest from PSG and Barcelona to secure the youngster.

Emeran revealed the following about the move: “Manchester has been more convincing than PSG and Barcelona.”

Further, it seems that Wayne Rooney had choice words for him: “He [Rooney] told me: ‘A players good or bad choices in his career based on his determination’. I realised that I had to be demanding of myself.”

He adds: “I live a daydream, but you have to keep your feet on the ground because the end goal is far from being achieved. I will have to work even harder to impose myself on Manchester United now.

“My ambition is to be able to be professionally one day and to win titles, but school remains the most important thing for now, if there is no school, there is no football.”

It will be interesting to see if the youngster succeeds in breaking through into the senior squad soon.
