Gareth Bale appears set to make a sensational return to English football.

The Welshman has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League in the past few years, with several clubs from London and Manchester being dubbed as his potential destinations.

At present, the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be interested in his services, with Real Madrid also open to doing business regarding the wide-man.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, Bale currently prefers a move to the Old Trafford club, but the Galacticos have other plans.

Real would very much prefer to see the pacey winger move to Chelsea instead, as it would raise the possibility of Eden Hazard’s switch to the Spanish capital.

The Galacticos have been in pursuit of the Belgian international for quite some time, and they now hope an exchange involving the two star forwards could take place come summer.

Real Madrid have set a £131 million price tag on Bale, but it remains to be seen if either of the two interested parties decide to match the inflated evaluation.

The 29-year-old’s current deal at the Santiago Bernabeu expires in 2022, and Los Blancos will hope to offload him sooner rather than later, so as to recoup as high an amount for his services as they possibly can.
