How Twitter Reacted To Luke Shaw’s Performance Against Mo Salah
Manchester United and Liverpool shared the spoils at Old Trafford on Sunday, as the scoreline stood an empathic 0-0.
The result means that Liverpool have temporarily edged to the top of the table, while Arsenal managed to usurp the Red Devils from the 4th spot with their win over Southampton.
Regardless, both managers will be relieved that the game didn’t go the other’s way considering the sheer amount on injuries that were on show.
Liverpool, in particular, weren’t at the top of their game, and even a weakened Manchester United side bothered them tactically in the second half, ensuring that the Merseyside team managed only one shot on target throughout the game.
One battle that caught the eyes of supporters is Luke Shaw’s impeccable marking of Mo Salah. The Englishman was on-point when it came to pocketing Salah, rendering him toothless.
This was a rare occasion wherein the Egyptian striker was unable to make an impact, and was even subbed off late into the game. Twitter was riddled with remarks about Shaw and Salah.
Luke Shaw has been utterly outstanding this afternoon. So much so that Salah has been taken off. Well played.

Even when Xherdan Shaqiri came on, forcing Salah to play centrally, Shaw managed to find him and neutralize any threat he may have posed.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer summed up Shaw’s game best when he remarked after the fixture: “When Liverpool need a goal and they take Salah off you know Luke Shaw’s had a great game.”
It will be interesting to see how much better he’ll be able to get with more game-time, and a gaffer like Solskjaer to potentially tutor him going forward.
In many ways, this season has been one where Shaw has shown the world that he is developing into the sort of player he was hyped to be back when he was the most expensive teenager in football.
