Manchester United have ‘stepped up their interest’ in Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The Mancunian giants have already made their decision regarding the future of club captain Antonio Valencia, who is set to depart from the Theatre of Dreams as a free agent at the end of the season.

Further, Ashley Young, 33, is also nearing the twilight of his career, whereas 20-year-old Diogo Dalot is not experienced enough to become Manchester United‘s regular first-choice right-back just yet.

Therefore, the Red Devils have begun looking for alternative long-term options in the position. In fact, earlier reports had claimed that they had already shortlisted one target: Crystal Palace’s promising youngster, Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The 21-year-old has certainly been one of the biggest breakthrough stars in the Premier League this season. An expert when it comes to one-on-one situations, the very best forwards in the competition have struggled against this winger-turned-defender.

Manchester United have been paying close attention to the Englishman, having already scouted the player on numerous occasions. But now, according to The Sun, the 20-time English champions have gotten serious in their pursuit of the Eagles’ starlet.

The English outlet has quoted an Old Trafford source as saying: “Scouts were at Burnley a few weekends back along with Brighton. That is around a dozen times since December.

“They really do like what they see and all the reports back are excellent. He is definitely someone close on the radar. Valencia is leaving and Ashley Young is getting on in years. Diogo Dalot is excellent but you can’t rely on him too heavily.”
