Barcelona are uninterested in re-signing Alexis Sanchez from Manchester United.

Alexis Sanchez’s move from Arsenal to Manchester United has not gone according to plan. In the 41 appearances he has made for the Red Devils in all competitions so far, he has only managed to score five goals.

The Chilean international was expected to improve drastically following the departure of former boss Jose Mourinho. However, there has barely been any change in his fortunes, as he continues to struggle under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as well.

Multiple sources have already indicated that the Norwegian tactician does not see Alexis in his future plans, and is ready to offload the player in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Further, recent reports have claimed that Manchester United are well aware of the fact that not many clubs would be capable of signing Sanchez on a permanent basis thanks to his ginormous wage packet.

The Mancunians are, therefore, prepared to let the 30-year-old leave on loan, whilst subsiding his salary. In fact, according to the Mirror, they seem to have already attempted a temporary move for the player.

The English outlet has revealed that United offered Sanchez’s services to his former club Barcelona. However, the Catalan giants turned the move down straightaway, as they have no interest in re-signing their former winger, even on loan.

Sanchez played for the La Liga giants between 2011 and 2014, making 88 appearances and scoring 39 league goals in return.

But he is a mere shadow of the player he used to be, and considering his age and wage demands, Manchester United are set to face a difficult time in helping their number 7 find a new destination.
