Real Madrid are prepared to offer Gareth Bale to boost their chances of signing Paul Pogba.

The 2018 World Cup-winning midfielder recently admitted that he dreams of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, thereby sparking enormous speculation about his future.

“Like I’ve always said, Real Madrid is a dream for anyone. It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world,” the Frenchman stated whilst on international duty. “There is also [Zinedine] Zidane as a coach and it’s a dream for anybody who likes football.”

Pogba did reinforce that he is currently happy at Manchester United, but the Galacticos are expected to try their luck at signing the 26-year-old nonetheless.

According to Spanish outlet AS, Real Madrid will make an attempt to sign the France international come summer, as current boss Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of his fellow compatriot.

It will be difficult for the La Liga outfit to complete this deal, however, considering Pogba’s new-found form at United, coupled with the strained relationship Real president Florentino Perez shares with the player’s agent, Mino Raiola.

In order to sweeten the prospective negotiations with Manchester United, the Galacticos are supposedly ready to offer a star forward of their own as makeweight, that player being Gareth Bale.

The Mancunians have been long-term admirers of the Welshman, and a chance to secure his services in return might just open them up to the prospect of losing their talisman.

Real Madrid believe Bale will be key to their Pogba pursuit, but it remains to be seen if the pacey wide-man approves of this deal, as he has time and again indicated that he is happy to stay put at the Spanish capital.
