After the departure of Jose Mourinho and the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, more than one question was raised as to the efficiency of the Norwegian gaffer at the helm of the Old Trafford outfit.

His relative inexperience on the top managerial positions aside, a big doubt was pegged on his ability to set his players straight when the need arose.

Clearly, those people weren’t privy to Solskjaer’s clips in training while managing Molde. The baby-faced assassin stayed true to his name when Manchester United faced Chelsea in the Premier League, and one player, in particular, had to face the brunt of the situation.

As per the Daily Mail, Solskjaer lashed out at Anthony Martial in the United dressing room for the Frenchman’s lack of effort. Supporters had already taken to social media to critique the youngster for not participating with his teammates during the pre-match drills on the pitch.

The reason later cited was a back problem for Martial. However, it is understood that Solskjaer’s behavior was a result of the general attitude that Martial has been displaying as of recent.

Ever since the 23-year-old was handed over a five-year-long contract renewal, his intent to perform seems to have waned considerably.

No longer does he pose a threat down the wing, and the fact that Solskjaer has ceased deploying him as his go-to option in starting lineups is quite telling.

The Frenchman may be in deep trouble if he’s taking the contract extension as a possible leeway to try and take things easy in Manchester.

Martial enjoys great support from the Red Devils, and such an attitude is not befitting the trust that has been placed on him.

The immediate result was there for all to see, as Solskjaer chose the struggling Alexis Sanchez over Martial when Marcus Rashford picked up an injury later on in the game.
