Manchester United weren’t hitting all cylinders when they ended their 2018/19 campaign last Sunday. The finish was one of their worst ones in English football, conceding a ridiculous amount of goals and ending on a note so sour that many of their big-name talents are now being linked with potential exits.

In the midst of all the uncertainty and frankly negative reports emerging about some of their transfer targets, the club did achieve a bit of good press when they unveiled their home jersey for the upcoming season. The unique design inspired by the treble winning season that would be forever immortal in the hearts of the supporters, was received quite positively.

More than one fan hoped that the iconic redesign and the homage the jersey paid to the club’s glory days would ensure that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lads would give it their all yet again.

However, in typical United fashion, the club went a step forward and then were pushed five behind.

A leak from Noida in India suggested that Manchester United’s away jersey would sport a bold pattern, one that didn’t exactly excite supporters. The leak showed a beige shirt with a snakeskin pattern on it and it was suggested that this would be the side’s final away jersey going into the campaign.

Fans stormed to Twitter to let their disapproval of the color be known widely. The pattern, in particular, became the cause of numerous jokes. More than one supporter felt that the lot of players presently at the club were quite befitting to the ‘snake’ pattern.

However, the same can also be suggested about the fans, who have been rapidly turning against the club on all fronts. A large number of Red Devils aren’t happy with the direction that Ed Woodward and the Glazers are taking the club into and the reaction to this kit may be a tipping point.
