Manchester United are falling behind in the race to sign Tanguy Ndombele due to the uncertainty surrounding Paul Pogba’s future.

The Lyon midfielder has attracted enormous interest from all across Europe, with the likes of Juventus, Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in his services.

PSG seem to be leading the chase for his signature, as L’Equipe have reported that the Parisians have been holding talks and discussing contract terms with the 22-year-old’s representatives for several weeks.

Further, manager Thomas Tuchel as well as club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi are eager to recruit the Frenchman, with even Kylian Mbappe attempting to convince his fellow compatriot to move to the Parc des Princes outfit.

Manchester United have fallen behind in this transfer race, as they are still occupied with sorting out the future of their talismanic midfielder, Paul Pogba.

The 26-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, but Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is said to favour a move for Spurs’ superstar Christian Eriksen instead.

Therefore, the Red Devils are expected to wait until Pogba’s future is clearer, and only then decide whether or not to make a move for Ndombele.

Meanwhile, Lyon are yet to receive a concrete offer for their prized starlet. The report adds that the player won’t be sold unless they receive an offer in the region of €100 million (£88m).
