Toni Kroos is ready to fight Paul Pogba for a starting spot at Real Madrid.

With a squad overhaul imminent this summer, Zinedine Zidane is expected to bring in several reinforcements, and Paul Pogba is said to be high up his transfer wishlist.

The talismanic midfielder, whose performances under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer deteriorated as Manchester United approached the tail-end of their season, has himself expressed his desire to join Real Madrid.

With this transfer looking likely, Los Blancos’ superstar Toni Kroos is admittedly excited at Pogba’s potential arrival. However, as far as his spot in the starting lineup is concerned, the 29-year-old remains unconcerned.

Reason Why Real Madrid Have Still Not Signed Paul Pogba

When specifically asked about Pogba joining Real, Kroos replied: “We can talk about many names. I like this player but nothing changes for me.

“I will continue doing what I’ve done all these years, fighting for my place, playing well, and when I’m at a good level I think I have no problems.”

The German international also addressed the Kylian Mbappe links, as he stated: “I like him as a player but this isn’t a question for me. I cannot buy him. I have a good contract but I cannot buy him. It’s a question for the club.”

Lastly, he had his say about signing a contract extension at the Spanish capital club until 2023, as he added: “It’s a very happy and very special day for me. I’ve had a lot of success with Madrid, and I’m sure we’ll have more in the coming years.”
