Thomas Meunier is ‘very close’ to joining Manchester United.
Following Antonio Valencia’s departure after the expiry of his contract at Old Trafford, the Red Devils are now in the market for a new first-choice right-back.
They have already been linked with numerous defenders, with Crystal Palace starlet Aaron Wan-Bissaka said to be on the top of their wishlist.
But now, Manchester United could be on the verge of welcoming another full-back altogether, as per reports coming in from Belgium.
According to Belgian media outlet La Derniere Heure, PSG wide-man Thomas Meunier is “very close” to finalising a switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
The deal in question is supposedly in the region of €25 million (£22m), with the Mancunians eager to wrap the transfer up “quickly”.
The 27-year-old has never hidden the fact that he is an enormous Manchester United supporter, and this transfer could be a positive move for all parties involved.
Reports suggest that Meunier has also attracted interest from Arsenal, but his love for United, coupled with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s eagerness to kickstart summer business, could see the Gunners suffer defeat in this particular pursuit.
