Manchester United want to finalise the signing of Bruno Fernandes “as soon as possible”.
However, Manchester United are the club most eager to secure the player’s services, and they have made their interest and intentions clear to the Portuguese outfit.
According to A Bola, the Red Devils have requested a meeting with Sporting to discuss this potential transfer and try to reach an agreement, and it could be held this week.
If an agreement is reached between all parties, Manchester United hope to announce this deal immediately after the conclusion of the UEFA Nations League, which ends this Sunday.
The Reds hope to seal this deal “as soon as possible”, in order to beat the enormous competition and win the race for Fernandes’ signature.
The Mancunian giants are willing to pay €70-80m for the 24-year-old, which should be enough to convince Sporting to part ways with their prized asset.
The report adds that Fernandes has always ‘dreamed of being able to play in the Premier League’, which gives United another boost in this pursuit.
