Manchester United may be finally seeing their transfer plans bear some fruit this summer. The reports coming in from all ends seemed to indicate a frustrating summer for the Red Devils.

Without Champions League football to offer, United were reportedly forced to shell out incredible financial incentives to tempt players and clubs.

As a result, some headway may have been made in certain sagas. Now, they may be all set to announce a signing at last and that too of a player whom they have been pursuing for a while now.

According to Portugese outlet A Bola, Manchester United may be able to announce the transfer of Bruno Fernandes at last. The report states that the Portuguese midfielder’s representatives will meet with the club and finalize a transfer.

The 24-year-old is presently plying his trade with the Portuguese national side who are in the finals of the Nation Cup, which is scheduled to take place on June 9 where they’ll face either England or the Netherlands.

The source adds that if everything is agreed to by then, United would prefer to announce the player’s signing immediately after the competition concludes.

Reports have also been stating that Daniel James has finished his medical at Carrington and that his announcement could also be made soon.

Fernandes was actively pursued by Man City for numerous weeks but it appears that United have the edge on the deal, with an alleged transfer fee between £62 million and £72 million offered by them. It is unclear if United have won the race against the Sky Blues or whether the player himself has opted for Old Trafford.

The finals are also important for the club due to another crucial saga. Matthijs de Ligt openly stated that any decision on his future would be taken only after this competition concludes.

As of such, United could have the ability to secure two crucial transfers on the same day. Concurrently, supporters could also be in for some heartbreak if this report isn’t accurate.
