Paul Pogba has been linked with a major transfer to Real Madrid since before the summer transfer window even began.

The midfielder as well as Galacticos’ manager Zinedine Zidane had expressed their interest in a potential summer union on multiple occasions during the course of the 2018-19 season.

Now, the 26-year-old superstar himself has admitted that he is eager to take up a new challenge elsewhere, thereby confirming his desire to part ways with Manchester United.

Whilst on his promotional tour to the Far East, the France international stated: “There is a lot of thinking [going on]. I have been three years in Manchester and have been doing great – some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody, like everywhere else.

“After this season and everything that happened, with my season being my best season … it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

While this statement clearly indicates that Pogba has his heart set on an Old Trafford exit, the Manchester United hierarchy seem to have other plans.

According to Madrid-based journalist José Luis Sánchez, the Red Devils have already spoken to Real Madrid regarding Paul Pogba, and have told Los Blancos that they have no intention of selling their talismanic midfielder at any price.

This means that Manchester United are prepared to force the wantaway player to stay put at the club against his wishes, at least for another season.

Will this decision help the English giants, or will it backfire massively? Only time will tell.
