Tanguy Ndombele has asked to leave Lyon this summer.

The star midfielder has attracted several suitors due to his impressive antics last season, with the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, and Paris Saint-Germain interested in his services.

However, the player will not be available for cheap, as Lyon are demanding a fee of £70 million for their prized asset.

In spite of the price tag, a summer transfer appears imminent. And now, the Ligue 1 outfit’s president has confirmed the same, reports Mirror.

Speaking to the French media, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has admitted the following regarding Ndombele: “He is seeking a departure. Nothing is done, but the door may be open.”

Aulas has further revealed that Lille’s Thiago Mendes will be targeted as the 22-year-old’s replacement, whilst the arrival of another midfielder, Jean Lucas, has already been confirmed.

Meanwhile, Spurs appear to be the frontrunners in this transfer race at present, despite facing rejection with their initial £40m offer for the Frenchman.

But now that Manchester United have almost completed the signing of Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, they could resume their pursuit of Ndombele in their bid to reinforce their weakened midfield department.
