Barcelona have expressed an interest in signing Victor Lindelof.

The Catalan giants are said to be on the lookout for new central defensive reinforcements, after having missed out on the signing of Matthijs De Ligt.

Barca were said to be leading the race for the Ajax captain’s services, but the Dutchman now appears set to join Italian giants Juventus.

Meanwhile, the La Liga champions have identified a new transfer target, in the form of Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof.

Having endured an abysmal 2017-18 debut season in England, Lindelof was one of the most improved players in the Premier League last term, and without doubt Manchester United‘s best defender.

As per Mundo Deportivo, his performances, including the displays against Barcelona in the Champions League, have left Ernesto Valverde heavily impressed.

The Spanish juggernauts have since made their interest in signing Lindelof quite clear. However, the Red Devils, adamant on holding onto the Swede, have stated that he is not for sale.

Barca believe United’s failure to qualify for the Champions League could convince the 24-year-old to make the switch to Camp Nou, and therefore, they shall remain in pursuit of the player.
