Manchester United have finally found a grip on the transfer market with Aaron Wan-Bissaka expected to come in as their second transfer of the summer window.

The 21-year-old right-back cost them a reported £50 million transfer fee with Crystal Palace making the most out of the Red Devils’ intent on acquiring the exciting prospect.

Wan-Bissaka topped the charts for major defensive contributions made by a right-back in the Premier League last season and he certainly packs the perfect skill-set that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be looking to take advantage of.

While Crystal Palace’s position in English football and the player’s age is casting a grim look on the deal by many, the comments of a familiar name may be interesting to look at.

Former Manchester United player and Wan-Bissaka’s teammate at Crystal Palace Wilfried Zaha faced off with the starlet on interesting terms.

Zaha had this to say about Wan-Bissaka’s abilities: “I was kind of shocked by how good he was when I played against him. I’ve played against a few decent right-backs, to be honest, and he’s one of them. You may go past him but he always manages to get a last-ditch tackle in.

“I don’t understand how you go from a winger to a right-back though, because he’s so good at defending, but I think that’s his natural position.”

Zaha was commenting on the fact that Wan-Bissaka isn’t a natural full-back and was initially deployed as a winger until the 2016/17 season.

He goes on to add: “He does his speaking on the pitch, really. That’s why everyone likes him. He doesn’t chirp up much. He just comes in, does what he has to do, plays his game, plays well and goes home. He just deals with it casually. I like his mentality. He’ll take on whoever, he’ll tackle whoever, and that’s why I rate him as much as I do.”

It will be interesting to see how Wan-Bissaka will fare in a United jersey.
