Twitter Reacts To Marcus Rashford’s New £200,000-A-Week Contract
Marcus Rashford has signed a new contract at Manchester United.
After weeks of negotiations, especially amid speculation linking the player with a potential switch to Barcelona, concrete news regarding the forward’s future has finally emerged.
The 21-year-old has officially signed a new four-year contract at the Old Trafford club, with an option for a further one-year extension. The wages are reported to be around £200,000-a-week.
“This club has shaped me, both as a player and as a person,” Rashford stated after penning down the new deal. “So it is such a privilege every time I get the opportunity to wear the shirt.

“Manchester United has been everything in my life since I arrived here at the age of seven. I will be giving everything I have to help get this club back to where it belongs and deliver the success that our fans deserve.”
The Mancunian outfit’s global fan-base has also reacted to this huge update on social media, and here are the best of reactions from Twitter:

Only way Rashford gets wages being reported is if he scores lots of goals and United win matches.
If that happens he’s earned that money. If it doesn’t he’ll be paid a lot less.
So let’s all get angry about United winning and our striker scoring?!

People slating this contract need to look at the bigger picture. It’s a statement of principle. If you’re not giving big contracts for academy grads who establish a first team position then what message does that portray to the other academy graduates?

Marcus Rashford’s base wage will be £150k – £200k with performance based bonuses (apps, goals, assists). They’ve headlined their story with the biggest figure possible… for clicks. Negativity spreads faster than facts.
