Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is convinced that Harry Maguire would be the perfect signing for Manchester United.

The Red Devils recently submitted a £70 million offer for the Leicester City star, as they look to finalise the signing of a much-needed central defender.

Manchester City have also expressed interest in signing the England international, but they are yet to table an improved offer since their opening £65m bid was turned down.

Reports indicate that the Foxes are looking for at least £90m for their prized defender, but it remains to be seen whether Manchester United are prepared to cough up that amount of cash.

However, as per the latest report from the Mirror, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been left convinced that Maguire would be the perfect signing for his team.

The Norwegian tactician recently spoke to the English contingent at the Old Trafford club, so as to get an inside track on the Leicester City star’s personality.

The likes of Ashley Young, Chris Smalling, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, and Phil Jones, who have all shared a dressing room with Maguire at some point of time, responded quite positively to their gaffer’s enquiry.

After the discussions, Ole was left feeling assured that the 26-year-old conducts himself in a manner that is worthy of being a Manchester United player.

Further, Solskjaer is also aware of the centre-back’s reputation of being a “quiet guy with a fantastic attitude, who simply gets on with his football”, and all indications suggest that if signed, he will have a positive impact on the Reds’ squad.
