Romelu Lukaku’s potential exit from Manchester United is proving to be much more exciting than initially anticipated.

While the Belgian’s future was more or less decreed to be away from Old Trafford from the start of the window itself, it is only recently that strong activity has been doing the rounds with regard to his transfer.

While Inter Milan remain the big suitors, the general look of the saga is a predictable one. Antonio Conte is desperate for Lukaku and the player is willing to leave.

United too are happy to let him go but are stubborn that they must make a slight return on what they paid for the Belgian when they purchased him from Everton.

That alleged fee of £80 million is deemed to be too high for the Serie A club to pay and the stalemate remains.

However, the player himself may have now dictated the route the saga is taking. Posting to his Twitter, Lukaku may have dropped the clearest indication yet of his departure.

The image, alongside agent Federico Pastorello, carries the caption: “Soon to be continued 🤫”

This is certainly definitive proof that something major is about to occur in Lukaku’s career and most people reacting to the tweet have deduced the inevitable.

However, the destination may not be as straight-forward as it seems. While Italy is certainly the place he is bound to end up at, Inter may not emerge with his signature.

Recent claims have strongly suggested that it may be Maurizio Sarri and Juventus who are able to sign the striker in the end. Alleged interest from Turin is immense but the details are a bit complicated.

It appears that United wish that either Paulo Dybala or Douglas Costa is made part of any deal involving Lukaku.

As of such, Inter will either have to succumb to United’s asking price or see their local rivals steal a signing from under their nose.
