Manchester United shushed their critics and had a blast as they enjoyed a 4-0 thumping of Chelsea at Old Trafford on the opening weekend of the Premier League.

The Red Devils played impressive attacking football with a pragmatic and balanced approach, particularly in the second-half after they permitted the London Blues to bully them with possession and counter-attacks in the opening spell.

Marcus Rashford’s penalty in the first-half was merely the unlocking of the floodgates as in the second-half, United found the net again, first through Anthony Martial and then once more through Marcus Rashford and they ended the merry affair with a brilliant debut goal from Daniel James.

The entire game was a splendid one and Frank Lampard truly received a baptism of fire for his managerial career with Chelsea.

In fact, such was the swagger with which United were scoring that they were adamant to add to their tally.

Scott McTominay, in particular, was heard saying “We go again” after Rashford netted the club’s third goal of the evening.

This kind of raw passion is precisely what Ole Gunnar Solskjaer advocates at the club- pure unapologetic attacking football.

McTominay’s herald for more goals went down splendidly on social-media as supporters of the club joined in, to ape the midfielder’s desire.

In fact, more than one fan was seen advocating for McTominay to be made the captain of the squad. It is true that the youngster is displaying great leadership qualities at such a tender age and could certainly be a vital presence for United in the years to come.

‘We Go Again’ is certainly what fans will be hoping to hear for the rest of the season after their incredible start to 2019/2020.
