De Gea Finally ‘Finally’ Close To Agreeing A New Man United Contract
David De Gea is close to signing a new Manchester United contract.
Negotiations between the star goalkeeper and the Old Trafford hierarchy have been ongoing since the previous season, but an official announcement has been nowhere in sight.
Upon his appointment as the interim manager of Manchester United in December 2018, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was tasked with convincing key players that their futures lies at the Theatre of Dreams.
The Norwegian started with Anthony Martial, who signed a new long-term deal back in January. Now, De Gea finally appears set to follow suit.
According to the Guardian, the Spanish international is finally on the verge of agreeing a new contract with the Mancunian giants.

As per the terms of the new deal, the shot-stopper will earn a basic salary of £290,000-a-week – the same as Paul Pogba, who is now the top earner in the squad following Alexis Sanchez’s loan departure to Inter.
The 28-year-old putting pen to paper would ensure that Manchester United do not lose him on a free transfer, as his current contract will expire come summer 2020.
In fact, with the new deal, De Gea’s market price will also skyrocket up to at least £80 million, meaning United will earn a decent amount in case the player looks to secure a move elsewhere in the near future.
