Pep Out: Man City Fan Calls For Guardiola’s Sacking After Norwich Defeat
Man City haven’t exactly started the 2019-20 Premier League campaign in the best possible manner. On Saturday, the Champions of England suffered their first defeat of the season at the hands of a stunning Norwich City side.
After finding themselves 2-0 down to the Canneries inside half hour, Pep Guardiola’s men did manage to pull one back through Sergio Aguero just before the break.
However, it was all for naught, as Teemu Pukki capitalising on a defensive error in the 50th minute successfully put the game out of the Cityzens’ reach, with the final score reading 3-2.
Out of the five league games played so far, the Mancunian giants have now registered 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat, and they already sit 5 points behind high-flying table-toppers Liverpool.
Many City fans have begun showing signs of worry due to their imperfect record so far this campaign, which lies in contrast with the 100% win record Liverpool boast at the moment.
However, one particular Cityzen appears to have had enough with Guardiola already – so much so, that he has already called for the Spaniard’s sacking.
The supporter called in on BBC Radio 5 Live on Saturday night, and went on to support his bizarre claim with the following justification: “He is only regressing. He came here to win the Champions League and ever since we lost to Tottenham he is regressing.

“We’re five games in and five points behind Liverpool already. Pep Guardiola came in here to make a dynasty – where is that dynasty? You can say he won the league but ever since then it’s been a regression rather than a progression.”
The caller also pointed at Guardiola’s record at previous clubs on live air, as he added: “He went to Bayern Munich to win the Champions League and to Man City to win the Champions League, has he achieved that? No. He’s obviously lost the players. It’s OK when you’ve get Messi playing for you.”
When asked to confirm if he really wanted Guardiola sacked and that it wasn’t a hoax, the fan replied: “Yes! Yes! We’re regressing. We’re five points behind after five games. I’m absolutely livid.”
What do you make of this gentleman’s claims?
