Twitter Reacts To Ashley Young’s Brilliant Performance Against Leicester
Manchester United displayed a balanced brand of football when they defeated Leicester City 1-0 on Saturday.
The Red Devils won the game via Marcus Rashford’s penalty goal, his fourth goal against the Foxes who are now the Englishman’s favorite side to score against.
At the same time, United did put up a defensively strong performance after the 15th minute, effectively killing the game for Leicester. In this regard, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was able to amend a recurrent criticism as the style of play was reminiscent of Jose Mourinho’s brutal approach.
However, it was the players who truly impressed as injuries didn’t mar the quality of the lineup.

Amongst these, the impact of Ashley Young was a splendid surprise for Manchester United fans. The veteran left-back, who also captained the side, was an energetic presence on the pitch.
Fans lauded this showing on Twitter and their reaction were a sharp contrast to Young’s prior criticisms.

I prefer Ashley Young at LB over Luke Shaw. Gives loads of space for Daniel James and actually has an engine that lasts for more than 15 minutes.

The 34-year-old actually succeeded in creating two solid chances during the game, more than any other Red Devil on the pitch. While his direct passes did suffer a bit, the quality of his crosses and clearances made up for it.
Prior to the fixture, Solskjaer had specified that the likes of Young, Mata, and Matic had to step-up to the task as senior players and Old Trafford certainly witnessed the same on Saturday.
Will the run of brilliance continue in September or are United yet to address their core flaws?
