Twitter Reacts To Fred’s Brilliant Performance Against Astana
Manchester United started their Europa League campaign on a high note as they defeated FC Astana 1-0 at Old Trafford.
The fixture was a memorable one for Mason Greenwood who was finally able to find his first senior goal for the Red Devils becoming the club’s youngest goal scorer in Europe.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decided to be experimental in his squad selection, both on account of injuries as well as to provide his players with much-needed rotation.
The result worked out well as the club’s style was commendable although their finishing was frustrating, to say the least. Amongst the players given the start, it was the performance of one name that has surprised fans quite a bit.

Fred was impeccable during the fixture and displayed great skill throughout the game. The Brazilian notched an impressive pass success rate of 94% and was unfortunate to have not scored through his 3 well attempted shots.
More importantly, his well-placed pass to Greenwood was the crucial in the all-important goal.
Fans took notice of this and rejoiced his renaissance on Twitter.

Really, really hope Fred kicks on this season and turns out to be the player he was at Shakhtar. Needed this year especially.

Most praised him for the display and hoped that he would continue to deliver similar gems in the future as well.
Fred has been quite underwhelming during his time at Old Trafford and performances like this truly spark hope in fans. If such a game can be aped by him against Premier League opposition, United will certainly have a midfield to fear.
Now the question of consistency is left in the cradle of time.
