Potential Lineups: AZ Alkmaar vs Manchester United
European football will seek to provide some respite for Manchester United who will travel to the Netherlands and face off against AZ Alkmaar.
The Red Devils last tasted straight-forward victory in the Europa League itself and will be eager to continue that trend after their recent Premier League debacles.
Here’s how the two teams are likely to lineup for the game:
AZ Alkmaar
The home side don’t have an injury crisis to deal with and will only be without Albert Gudmundsson due to a knock and Jonas Svensson due to suspension.
Manager Arne Slot will certainly fancy his chances given the probable youthful nature of United’s lineup and their recent form. AZ, for their matter, are seated 3rd in the Eredivisie and have only one loss to their name while in the Group L they drew their encounter against Partizan Beograd 2-2.
Since that late September draw, they have won all their games including a handsome 3-0 win against Feyenoord.

Manchester United
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s injury update ahead of the Friday fixture was a mixed one, to say the least.
In terms of absentees, Paul Pogba’s renewed ankle problem will see him miss the game as will Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Luke Shaw, Ashley Young, Phil Jones, and Eric Bailly. More worryingly, Anthony Martial’s fitness concerns also persist.
In terms of recovery, Angel Gomes and Diogo Dalot are back in the side and will be joined by youngsters James Garner, Brandon Williams, Mason Greenwood, and Tahith Chong who were part of the traveling lot.
This will ensure yet another patchwork starting eleven for the Red Devils who appear to be still far from fielding their intended lineup.
