Jose Mourinho has turned down Lyon in favour of an unnamed club.

Having parted ways with Manchester United mid-December last year, the Portuguese tactician has been awaiting his return to football for nearly ten months now.

While he has been on the receiving end of several job offers from top European clubs — including the likes of Sporting and Newcastle, if rumours are to be believed — Jose has rejected them all.

He insists on remaining patient, as he waits for a club that completely suits his vision and philosophy.

Amid his selectiveness and appearances on TV as a guest pundit, the serial winner seems to have turned down a brand new club, this time from the Ligue 1: Lyon.

The French outfit’s president, Jean Michel Aulas, confirmed as much, when he recently announced: “We (him and Jose) had some fairly flattering exchanges over SMS.

“It was nice for everyone. He did not accept our proposal to meet because he has already chosen another club.”

This “another club” mentioned by Aulas remains a mystery as of now. But if true, it indicates that Mourinho clearly isn’t too far away from making yet another sensational return to management.
