Reason Why Zidane ‘Believes’ Real Madrid Can Sign Paul Pogba
Amongst the ongoing woes at Manchester United, the one that is plaguing them the most is the drop in quality of their brand value. At this rate, the allure of joining the Old Trafford outfit keeps diminishing and it will be hard to convince new players to make the switch.
In particular, now it may be an issue to even keep the top players at the club. While David De Gea has committed his long term future to the club, Paul Pogba is still mulling over a new deal.
Now, a rekindling of a past saga may be in play.
As per the ESPN, Zinedine Zidane still believes that Pogba has a desire to join him at Real Madrid. This is allegedly playing on Madrid’s transfer plans as the higher-ups at the Bernabeu are looking to sign Christian Eriksen instead.
Further, Zidane’s adamancy is despite Florentino Perez telling him that United don’t wish to part ways with the World –Cup winner and that their intended pricetag is too high for Madrid to pay.
In contrast, a January move for Eriksen seems like a doable transfer, despite the fact that the player himself would prefer to delay a move until the summer wherein he’ll be able to negotiate as a free agent and Madrid won’t have to dish out a large transfer fee to Tottenham Hotspur.
The stumbling block may be the desire for Perez to sign a marquee player as early as possible as their summer spending spree has not translated into immediate success for Los Blancos.
The poor form at United makes this the apt time for Pogba to wish for a move away from the club, particularly since he is already believed to be unhappy and looking for a new challenge.
Will this poor run of games ensure the inevitable?
