Massimiliano Allegri ‘Close To Accepting’ Manchester United Job
Manchester United’s period of woe looks unlikely to end any time soon. Even if the Red Devils are able to pull off a miraculous win against Liverpool and set up a convincing run of games thereon, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has a lot of work to do before the fans will sing his praises again.
Of course, that is under the supposition that the Norwegian will still have his job after such debacles. Lots of murmurs have been doing the rounds regarding the gaffer’s future and the latest piece of news about his potential successor isn’t a promising one.
Now, Tuttosport believe that United have held ‘concrete’ talks with former Juventus gaffer Massimiliano Allegri who is now close to accepting an offer from the Red Devils.
Talks are believed to have been held between the gaffer and the Premier League giants over the last fortnight following Solskjaer’s disappointing performances.

It is understood that the board will stick with the former striker for the time being and will only give him the sack if situations deteriorate even further by the end of the month.
This is in tune with past claims too.
While Allegri is believed to be content with taking the job at the start of the next season as well, the presence of interest from Tottenham certainly complicates matters.

The lack of a Director of Football at United will further mean that Allegri’s potential appointment will reset the club’s transfer and tactical policy further.
If true, this report paints a deep divide in the relationship that Solskjaer enjoys with the board and now it does appear as if this season will merely be an extension of the former Molde and Cardiff City gaffer’s temporary position at Old Trafford.
Can a reversal of fortune be achieved by the master of the late change?
