Manchester United fans would have been extremely pleased to see Anthony Martial back from injury and back in action in their recent games.
Having returned to match fitness against Liverpool last week, the French striker was crucial to United’s 1-0 win over Partizan in the Europa League, netting the all-important penalty.
Much of the fanfare over his return is due to the form slump and ineffectiveness that Marcus Rashford displayed in the striker’s role in his absence.

Many fans hailed this return and predicted a much-more clinical attack for United in the future games now that the French striker was back in action.
However, the most brilliant compliment was showered on Martial by his teammate Juan Mata.
Commenting on an Instagram post of the forward, Mata dubbed Martial to be the ‘French Ronaldo’.
Certainly a hyperbolic comparison but one that the most hopeful of Red Devils will be eager to see come to fruition. His teammates Diogo Dalot, Marcus Rashford, Victor Lindelof, Timothy Fosu-Mensah, and Chris Smalling likewise hailed the performance.
The fact that Martial missed a penalty, United’s second in the first-half of the Norwich game, didn’t appear to raise much criticism given the nature of his eventual winner.
Ever since returning to first-team action under Jose Mourinho, Martial has had the look of passion. Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he enjoys likewise confidence with the gaffer piling him with praise and potential.
Now it is up to the Frenchman to make good of this comparison.
