Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth has sent their morale tumbling down again. Fans were hoping to see the good run of form that had seen them secure 3 back-to-back away wins in all competitions, guide the way to a win at the Vitality Stadium as well.

However, Josh King’s first-half goal combined with a resilient Bournemouth side ensured that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s lads lost this encounter as well, their fourth one in the league and the Norwegian’s 21st one in 50 Premier League games.

United’s lack of creativity and Andrea Pereira’s mediocrity as an attacking midfielder was repeatedly touted to be the reason behind the loss. Many commented that Paul Pogba in the no.10 role could have made a world of difference on Saturday.

The Frenchman is still out due to an injury that seems likely to sideline him until early December.

Speaking to RMC Sport via Facetime, the midfielder commented the following about United’s loss: “I’m gutted. To see the team lose without being able to play is the worst. I would like to be back to help them but the most important thing is to heal.”

Despite seeing Anthony Martial return from injury, the team wasn’t able to feed him a lot of chances.

Pereira was ineffective regarding the same as well, with Solskjaer lacking the adequate options to replace him as well. The choice to bring on Jesse Lingard was made fun of on social media as the Englishman was just as poor as Pereira was.

At the moment, Juan Mata appears to be the Norwegian’s best bet in the spot, although the former Chelsea maestro is no longer the creative midfielder he used to be in his prime.

This injury crisis may very well lead to further trouble for the Red Devils who must be desperately counting the days until the winter transfer window.
