Bale Could Join United In January – Real Madrid Are Convinced He Will Become A Man Utd Player
While most of the speculations regarding Manchester United’s potential transfer business in January have dealt with the players they could purchase, losing talent is still a realistic threat at the side.
The top name in that regard still remains Paul Pogba. While the French midfielder has been out of action for a while now, he still remains one of the most commercially appealing players in world football.
As of such, the departure saga that plagued United for much of the summer could very well play out in the winter too, with all the usual suspects involved.
However, now there is another long-sought player who could make matters interesting.
According to the Sun, Gareth Bale could very much end up at Old Trafford in January and if not in the winter window, the Welshman will most probably leave Real Madrid for Manchester in the summer.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward has been exit-bound at the Bernabeu for a while now. The summer window presented ample opportunities for the injury-prone player to depart the Spanish giants.

However, the report claims that Madrid were aware of United’s long-standing interest and intentionally blocked a move elsewhere due to that.
Now, it is understood that Los Blancos are eager to treat Bale leaving for Old Trafford to be leverage to lure Paul Pogba the other way.
It is evident that Pogba would love to function at Madrid, with Zinedine Zidane desperate for his compatriot at the Bernabeu. However, United were adamant on a high transfer fee for their academy graduate, largely due to his existing contract, and that remained a powerful negotiating card for the English side.
At the same time, irrespective of Bale’s commercial appeal, United may not be all too inclined at swapping Pogba, given how Real Madrid and Juventus had allegedly offered multiple players as part of a swap deal in the summer, only to be denied by Ed Woodward and company.
