As of recent, Manchester United’s transfer speculations have been zoning in on one name in particular. Erling Haaland has rapidly emerged as a potential Old Trafford favorite, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer allegedly keen on securing his signature.
However, what isn’t for certain is the extent to which the Mancunian giants require the services of the teenager striker who has so far functioned only in the Austrian Bundesliga for RB Salzburg.
Regardless, the links are firm and now United could be looking at this transfer, with a recent piece of news pointing towards further intrigue regarding Haaland.
According to the Atheltic’s David Ornstein, Haaland’s father Alf-Inge was reportedly sighted at Carrington training ground, further fueling speculation that the youngster is on his way to Old Trafford.
Alf-Inge formerly functioned for United’s bitter rivals Manchester City although he has indicated in the past that this link won’t color the likely future of his son.
As of such, if this sighting is true, then it may be possible that the early makings of a potential future deal are being discussed by all parties involved.
Incidentally, Haaland is officially managed by his agent Mino Raiola who has certainly had a long-standing relationship with the Mancunian side. Then again, it will be amply interesting to see whether the future of Paul Pogba’s ongoing transfer tryst will have any bearing on the potential dealings regarding the Norwegian talent.
The fact that Solskjaer managed the striker during his time at Molde is certainly encouraging. However, there are several United supporters who are exercising a healthy skepticism about the teenager.
It is unclear at this point whether the sheer amount of news regarding Haaland that has been pouring in is truly substantial or if the media are merely leaping at this next United saga, headed for an all-too-familiar path?
