Man United have made contact with Arturo Vidal’s camp as they look to reinforce their midfield, reports FCInterNews.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tinkering in midfield, trying to find the right combination of players. But Fred and Andreas Pereira have so far been proven unreliable, whereas Nemanja Matic seems to have set his mind on a move away from Old Trafford.

Scott McTominay has been United’s only hope since Paul Pogba’s injury, which isn’t exactly a long-term solution.

Thus, the Mancunians are on the lookout for a reliable midfielder to add to their ranks. Their search has led them to Vidal who seems to be unsettled with his allotted game-time at Barcelona.

The Chilean has made just 3 league starts this season as Arthur Melo, Sergio Busquets and Frenkie de Jong are Ernesto Valverde’s preferred starters.

Moreover, the Chilean international admitted earlier this year that he will evaluate his stay in Catalonia at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the Premier League giants are already on the midfielder’s case as club vice-chairman, Ed Woodward is said to have already been in contact with his agent Fernando Felicevich. Felicevich is a trusted accomplice of Woodward — being an instrumental figure in materialising Alexis Sanchez’s move to Inter Milan.

However, it was also reported that the box-to-box midfielder would prefer a move to Inter, who are also interested. It is believed that the ex-Bayern Munich star would like to reunite with former boss Antonio Conte at San Siro.

Having played in 3 different leagues, the 32-year-old would bring a great deal of experience and leadership in midfield. But it remains a fact that he is not getting any younger.
