Manchester United got a taste of their transfer target Jack Grealish’s talents this Sunday.

The Englishman scored a screaming goal and opening the scoreline last night. Grealish easily beat the defenders and David de Gea with a curling effort into the top-right corner. Aston Villa held United to a 2-2- stalemate, as the playmaker proved to be the best at pulling strings on the pitch.

Meanwhile, the Mancunian giants have been linked with the versatile midfielder quite often. The Red Devils have been pursuing the England hopeful for a long time and see him as a perfect addition to their playmaker-less squad.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was also impressed by the goalscorer and hailed praise. The Norwegian was also asked regarding his side’s interest in the Villa star, to which he responded (via Goal):

“I can’t talk too much about other teams’ players, if they’re Man Utd calibre or targets.”

“But fantastic goal, I think he hit one of them corners I hit a couple of times!

“It was a great finish,” Solskjaer continued. “But we should defend better, show him down the left. But what a goal and he played a good game.”

The former Red Devil refused to entertain any talks about their interest, but that secrecy may add credibility to the rumours. Besides, why refuse to speak about something if it isn’t important and sensitive? It seems likely on the surface that there is some interest towards the 24-year-old, though it may not be a solid concrete interest.

The Old Trafford crowd hasn’t witnessed a good playmaker since the prime days of Juan Mata and Michael Carrick, and it’s time they are given one. Moreover, the squad desperately needs a creator as Paul Pogba is clearly not comfortable with the entire creative burden of the team.
