Scott McTominay Is ‘Undroppable’ And Exactly The Type Of Player Solskjaer Needs
Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur was arguably their finest performance in quite a long time.
The Red Devils functioned with the swagger that has been absent for many fixtures and their attacking prowess was immense.
Marcus Rashford was impeccable during the night and displayed as much with his well-found brace. However, there was also an area in the starting lineup that saw a long-awaited return.
Scott McTominay was a vital cog in United’s victory and it is fair to say that his absence in the past few games was felt strongly. The nature of his linking up with Fred was further evidence of the same.
Speaking about McTominay, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed just how important the academy graduate was to the lineup: “You can almost say he is undroppable. There was no way I wasn’t going to push him through for tonight. He had a light session with the reserves yesterday. He is a tough boy.”
The Norwegian gaffer went on to add: “McTominay wants to be the best player he can be. That is the kind of player I want at this club. He is one of ours. He knows what #mufc means.”

The midfielder is already a club favorite for his performances so far this season, with repeated calls being made to name him the captain.
Further still, alongside Rashford he has had the strongest change this campaign and seems certain to be a regular part of this starting lineup for a long time ahead.
About the general performance of his team, Solskjaer added the following: “We had players enjoying themselves, taking players on. We haven’t been good enough breaking teams down when 70% possession. But tonight I thought some of the penetration was excellent.”
They will now hope to continue this form in a crowded December fixture list.
