What Fans Are Saying About Fred’s Performance vs Tottenham
Manchester United emerged triumphant against Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday, denying Jose Mourinho the dream return he would have been hoping for.
Goals from Marcus Rashford and Dele Alli illustrated the 2-1 scoreline, with United’s winner coming through a penalty.
This was an all-round impressive performance from the home side who made few errors and remained composed. To their credit, Spurs were often disorganized in their approach and rarely found a consistent outlet with which to pose a sustained threat.
For United, it was the antics of one man in particular that fans have elected to comment upon.
Fred had one of his best games in a United shirt at Old Trafford with the Brazilian midfielder composing a crucial component of United’s win.
Fans recognized as much and commented on his prowess on Twitter as well as on some of the antics during the game.

It was one of those rare games where you can understand how #MUFC wrote a £50 million cheque for Fred. There’s talent there.

There were also those who chose to highlight that Fred’s most important contribution to the game, a blocked shot in the defense, arrived without the player intending it to occur himself.
His pricetag and slow start to life at Old Trafford has often been criticized by many but his recent games have had much to praise.

In fact, this is the longest stretch of games that Fred has been enjoying regular starts as a United player and it remains to be seen if it continues.
Of course, the immediate threat to his starting spot is Paul Pogba’s return from injury with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer indicating that the Frenchman may be deployed back into the midfield pivot.
This is despite the fact that the former Juventus star can arguably contribute much more as a central attacking midfielder.
