Manchester United’s transfer pursuits remain a topic of great contention. The club’s academy graduates have been in stellar form all season and this has led many to question whether the Red Devils really need to spend heaps of cash on young talent elsewhere.

The fact that most of the linked names with their huge multi-million dollar pricetags are in a similar age group to the present crop of graduates at Old Trafford aid this argument.

At the same time, there is no denying that world-class talent needs to be signed and adequate investments have to be made if the Mancunian giants have a serious intent of challenging for silverware. This was the method that was tested and proven by Manchester City and Liverpool.

In this regard, United believe that they will acquire Jadon Sancho, according to reports from the Mirror.

The source believes that the Premier League giants consider themselves in pole position to sign the English winger. There has been heavy competition for Sancho’s signature after his impressive form with Borussia Dortmund, especially with names like Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and Barcelona in the mix for his services.

The German club remain adamant that he is not for sale and that has been their position in past windows as well.

However, the most recent spike in speculation arrived after the youngster appeared to have a fallout with Dortmund with disciplinary action also taken on him.

United’s interest isn’t a new one and the promising starlet is believed to be a long-term target for the club. As of such, they are bound to try and make progress into acquiring him in the new year, although a summer signing still appears to be the most likely possibility given all the factors involved in the alleged interests of all the parties.
