Manchester United look to lure Erling Braut Haaland away with astronomical wage offers, reports the Sun.
With 28 goals, the Norwegian is exactly the kind of out-and-out goalscorer United need. Haaland would fit right into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s young front-three.
And to successfully import the striker, the Mancunians are prepared to offer him 10 times his current wage. Should the teenager join the Red Devils, his wages will be bolstered from £20,000-per-week to £200,000-per-week – an unreal figure for a teenager.
Moreover, it was also reported that the RB Salzburg starlet will be further given performance based bonuses. The forward would also be eligible for bonuses should the Premier League giants qualify for the Champions League or win any silverware.
Meanwhile, the proposed deal to Redbull partner RB Leipzig for the starlet seem to have gone cold as well.
Head of soccer Oliver Mintzlaff told Sport1: “Yes, we met with him. We are interested in the player, great interest.
“He listened to it, logically, and is very open to a move. He would like to change [clubs] in summer at the latest.
“It is not easy. There’s Manchester United , Juventus , Borussia Dortmund. There are a few other clubs as well.”
The Old Trafford outfit seem to be looking to financially out-muscle their competition to secure the youngster’s services. The 19-year-old is seen worth £76 million in the eyes of the United higher-ups, which will probably eliminate any late bids.
Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are the only two regulars at the club capable of playing centrally and an injury to any one of them would void Solskjaer of decent options for his frontline. But with the towering striker’s possible arrival, that problem may never show up again.
