Marcos Rojo Could Follow Chris Smalling To Serie A
Manchester United are certainly in great doubt for arrivals this winter. On the other hand, however, January certainly looks likely to see players depart the outfit.
Multiple reports have already claimed that the Red Devils will be looking to offload players with Marcos Rojo and Nemanja Matic the names being touted for an exit.
As of such, it is almost certain that they are listed for sale in January and this will mean that many clubs may have their eye on the duo.
Now, one struggling club could be looking at Rojo to be a source of respite.
As per Italian outlet La Nazione (via the Sun) Fiorentina have included Marcos Rojo in their plans for a massive overhaul for next season.
The report adds that Rojo is valued in the range of £7.7 million by the Old Trafford outfit. A summer move to Everton had reportedly failed. To make matters more desperate, Rojo himself hasn’t been an active part of United’s existing squad, being left out of simultaneous matchday squads.

As of such, a move to Fiorentina could arrive as a welcome deal for both sides.
However, the issue in question is that the Argentine defender is likely to be sent packing this window itself and United may not be eager to wait until the end of the season, let alone let summer, to see Rojo go. The fact that the player enjoys a sizable wage package at the club may also be a part of an early departure.
All of this could be a massive blow to the plans of the Serie A giants who are clearly desperate for new blood to relaunch their once consistent form in Italy.
It is unclear whether the club will look to sing Rojo in January given the clear interest to sell by United.
