As the year draws to a close, football clubs have little to reflect about as they are busy initiating the processes that will see them clear the path to multiple deals by the end of January.
However, the role of the agent in all these transfer storms often gets forgotten. This is certainly an intriguing perception given that agents can make or break deals in the modern era.
Few eclipse the reputation that Mino Raiola has garnered in this regard, with multiple big-name stars being represented by him.
The most recent feat he pulled off was in bringing Zlatan Ibrahimovic back to AC Milan.
While speaking about the Swede’s return, Raiola also made some damning statements about Manchester United.
As per La Republicca, Raiola had this to say about doing business with Manchester United: “Today, I wouldn’t bring anyone there. They would also ruin [Diego] Maradona, Pele and [Paolo] Maldini.”
He then went on to address the burning issue, stating: “Paul needs a team and a club, one like the first, Juventus.”
The future of Paul Pogba has always hung in the balance and now Raiola’s view of United may be an added factor that could steer the Frenchman away from Old Trafford.
This is despite the fact that Pogba has been looking likely to remain with the Mancunian outfit, with recent reports even claiming that Real Madrid will cease pursuing him.
Further still, his recent return from injury has injected new hope into the outfit, with the crucial bout of creativity inserted into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at last.
However, Pogba still needs to work hard during the remainder of the season and provide consistent performances to a resurgent United side.
As of such, his future could still alter, with a massive saga involving big clubs possible on the table.
