What Man City Fans Shouted At Ole Gunnar Solskjaer At Old Trafford
Man Utd faced their local rivals Man City in the first leg of Carabao Cup semi-finals with plenty of confidence at Old Trafford last night.
However, a pretty one sided first half saw the Red Devils trailing by three goals, as the game concluded with the score line of 1-3 with Rashford’s 70th minute goal.
The goal scorers for the Citizens were Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva, with the third goal being an own goal from Andreas Pereira.
There were plenty of highlighting moments in the eventful fixture, however, one particular moment stood out and appeared to sting a bit for the Man Utd supporters.
The away fans were heard singing: ‘Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, we want you to stay.’
The Norwegian manager has failed to produce what was expected of him when he was appointed as the permanent boss of the Red Devils this season. The club fails to display consistency as they’ve only won eight games with less than half the season in the remainder.

Although it remains true that there is still two-and-a-half years left in the deal fastening the head coach at Old Trafford, the club officials are expected to put the gaffer’s position under scrutiny after the terrible loss against their local rivals.
Ed Woodward, the club’s executive vice Chairman, reportedly feels difficult to sack the gaffer because of such identical multiple cases in the recent past of the club. However, with Mauricio Pochettino having concluded his reign at Tottenham Hotspur, the Mancunian outfit is understood to have an eye on the Argentine for a while.
Nevertheless, what was completed was the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals, and supporters are now looking forward for the second leg to see if the Old Trafford side could actualise a dramatic comeback to surprise the fans and opposition by advancing to the finals.
