Ashley Young, whose contract at Old Trafford expires in summer, is on his way out to join Inter, according to BBC.

The Englishman has suffered a bittersweet climax of his United career. Young was deemed not good enough offensively anymore and was consequently converted to a fullback. And with the arrival of Aaron Wan-Bissaka and the promotion of Brandon Williams, he has lost that place too.

However, it was never as if the England international was a great fullback. The makeshift right-back struggled to play the role of a modern attacking fullback and failed to defend consistently enough. This later on led to a gradual fallout with the fans who had had enough of his displays.

Wan-Bissaka has solidified his position in the first XI for good and Williams has managed to push Luke Shaw below the pecking order. It is very unlikely that the United skipper will get decent minutes in action, having just made 12 appearances so far this season.

Antonio Valencia Could Make A Surprise Return To English Football

The former Aston Villa man is now free to talk to clubs outside of England, but it is unclear whether the Mancunians would be willing to let the veteran go in January or wait for his contract to expire at the end of the season.

The former winger will be joining former teammates Alexis Sanchez and Romelu Lukaku should he make the decision to depart, becoming the third player to exit Old Trafford for Antonio Conte’s side in the span of a year.
