With the winter transfer window in progress, speculations have been arising all over the world linking talented players with big clubs. And as per the latest reports, Manchester United star Ashley Young is closing in on a deal with Inter Milan.

According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the talented defender has agreed personal terms with the Italian side for a contract running till June 2021, as talks are currently going on with the English club to finalise the deal.

The 34-year-old has been a valuable asset wearing captain’s arm band for the Mancunians with his experience down the flanks. The full back is thus picking the interest of Antonio Conte as the Italian gaffer wishes to exploit the veteran’s skill down the wings.

Nevertheless, if the club cooks up a decision and get the talks through soon, the manager could lose the experienced defender from his disposal earlier than expected.

It could cause issues at the back as the Red Devils are kind of lacking on performing defenders, especially on the flanks with Luke Shaw’s bad form this season. Moreover, Harry Maguire’s injury will also come to haunt the Norwegian manager if Young departs this month.

However this could end up being an opportunity for Brandon Williams, as the teenager will be deployed at the left flank more. The 19-year-old has been enjoying a rise in his skills and experience with Solskjaer making use of the talented defender occasionally this season.

Regardless, with the current season being his 9th at Old Trafford, the loss of Young could be quite a blow to the Mancunian giants. The English club is already under a woeful spell as they secured only 9 wins from 22 matches in the domestic league this campaign.

Consequently, offloading an experienced player rather than addition of fresh legs wouldn’t likely be a fruitful idea given the shortage of players at his position.
