It was reported recently of the Sporting President’s arrival at England to supposedly hold talks with United about the availability of Bruno Fernandes.

With the procedures of the move still progressing along with the winter transfer window, the Portuguese club have requested the services of Marcos Rojo in return if they wish to go on with the deal for their player.

The Mancunian club were conjuring a £50million deal for the Sporting star who is favoured by the club’s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Moreover, the playmaker has requested his side to permit him to move to Old Trafford

A variety of local newspapers in Portugal have claimed that the odds of the transfer happening are seriously high and that the clubs are in agreement over the talented midfielder.

A Portuguese daily, O Jogo, however reports that Sporting are asking for United defender Marcos Rojo as a part of the deal, even though the Argentine’s huge salary stands in the way.

Although the quickest way to actualise the transfer of Portugal international would be to facilitate the move of Rojo to Sporting, it could fail owing to the existing wage issue of the 29-year-old. Then both the clubs would have to start over the negotiation with half a month left in the remainder of the transfer window.

It is quite true that the move of Fernandes to Old Trafford seems to be occurring in the near future with the Red Devils clearly showing massive interest in the valuable asset.

Accordingly, it’s understood that the Portuguese side could ask for another player as a makeweight or demand for a more appealing money package for the transfer.
