What Was Written On Solskjaer’s Note To Juan Mata vs Wolves
Manchester United delivered a smooth win when they faced off against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford on Wednesday. The final scoreline of 1-0 did not fully reflect the plethora of squandered scoring opportunities from both the teams.
Nevertheless, United were in total control for much of the game and their frontline sported a look of creativity, a feature that has been lacking all campaign.
A massive source of the same was Juan Mata. Despite being 31 years of age, the Spaniard was an incredible performer during the fixture and has been experiencing some of his best form.
At the peak of the action, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was seen passing a note to Juan Mata. Following that, United did appear to be a more tactically sound team, especially since Wolves were starting to look more comfortable.

In his post-match press conference, the Norwegian gaffer revealed what was on the note given to the former Chelsea player: “It was just a spell there that we struggled a little bit and players were playing more off the cuff than they should be doing and when they swapped Traore over we swapped Dan over for a little while and it worked.”
Solskjaer also added regarding the Daniel James wing swap that was part of the instructions: “Dan was straight through on goal two seconds after and it’s not often you create that many clear opportunities that we did with Dan. There were some great runs in behind from him and he needs to learn that composure from Juan. An absolute beauty of a goal. It was great timing on his run.”
However, when Mata was asked about the same, his answer was wittier (via BT Sport): “It was a list of grocery shopping. ‘Bread, milk and all these things!”
It will be interesting to see if Mata is charged with the midfield spot for more games following this good form.
